We helped transform a desk-based workforce into a digital army

The purpose of the project
Our client, a crucial and integral public service department required mobile technology to support real-time information being made available, as and when needed. In addition, budget cuts had resulted in the need for savings totalling £500,000 needing to be realised by implementing mobile technology practises.
What we did
Considering the culture of the organisation and the current processes adopted, a more mature project approach was undertaken which combined both agile and waterfall thinking. This included a change management plan and a project management plan, with added focus on communications to consider the extensive number of stakeholders, and research work streams in place, to ensure benefits were measured and realised effectively.
We created a platform for future innovation by developing the Digital Mindset within the organisation, fostering collaboration, and rewarding ideas for coordination with other government departments, businesses and the voluntary sector. The design brief set out that the project benefits must:
Improve and automate existing high-volume activities
Introduce new functionality, skills and capabilities to support the general public in a modern way
Deliver all of this from a mobile platform that enables secure remote working and saves money too
The outcome
The project was a huge success and was nominated for the Jersey Tech Awards.
